Invitations are out in the mail. We hope to get everyone's RSVPs soon!
Here is some more information on the dinner options. The steak will be cooked medium rare to medium and is served with a blue cheese sauce and cheesy mash potatoes and green beans. The chicken option is a rosemary chicken breast with drunken cherry relish, wild rice and green beans. This option is gluten free. The vegetarian option is tortellini with a creamy pesto sauce and grilled portabello mushrooms. If you need a vegan option or if you have other dietary restrictions, please let us know.

Registry
We understand many of you are committing a lot of time and money to come to our wedding. Most importantly we want you to be there to celebrate with us. Please do not feel obligated to buy us a gift. If you want to buy us a wedding gift, we are currently registered at myregistry.com. Homemade/unique gifts are also welcomed!
Hotels
Hotels in Grand Rapids
So apparently there is a little issue with getting enough rooms for Saturday night in one hotel.
Currently we have rooms blocked off at the Holiday Inn Downtown Grand Rapids (616- 235-7611) for Saturday and Sunday (rate is $158 + tax). They are only able to give us 5 rooms on Saturday, so if they fill up you may want to call the hotel and book outside of the block or book online. This hotel is pet friendly and there is a $25 fee.
UPDATE: As of 6/21/14, the Holiday Inn Downtown is sold out of all rooms on Saturday 8/9. If guests still need to book, you may have to book at the Riverfront Hotel. There are still rooms available for Sunday Night at the Holiday Inn.
Riverfront Hotel in Grand Rapids (off Ann St) also has 20 rooms available on Saturday ($99/night for a king and a pullout) and 15 rooms on Sunday ($92/night for a king +/- a pullout). There are no double rooms available for Saturday. This hotel is also pet friendly for a $25 fee, but you have to mention this when you call to book.
We also have 15 rooms available on Sunday only at City Flats Hotel in downtown. They have double ($142 + tax) and single rooms ($153 + tax) available but for Sunday night only.
For all of these options, when you call the hotel mention that it's for the McBride/Johns Wedding.
Again let us know if there are any problems.

How to Get to Grand Rapids, Michigan
For those of you coming from out of town (which is most of you!), here is some information on getting here. The main airport in Michigan is DTW (Detroit). This will probably be the cheapest airport to fly into, but it is also the furthest away (Approx 2.5 hr drive to GR). Another smaller airport is Flint (FNT) which can have good deals depending on where you are coming (approx 1hr 40mins to GR). You can also fly into Lansing. The most convenient is the Grand Rapids Airport (GRR) which is very close to everything we have planned for the weekend.
If you are driving, it is pretty self explanatory.
Please call us if you have any questions regarding travel plans.

Rehearsal Dinner
We wanted to let everyone know that anyone who is in town on Saturday night is invited to the rehearsal dinner. It will be at San Chez Cafe and Bistro in downtown Grand Rapids at 6pm. Dinner will include a buffet of their delicious tapas. Hope everyone can make it!

About Us
After spending a year in Philadelphia, Barbara moved back to East Lansing. Shortly afterwards, Ryan and Barbara adopted their amazing dog, Fern. Together we enjoy running, traveling, and cooking. Barbara enjoys gardening and pottery and this allows Ryan some alone time to spend killing monsters on D&D and playing with his Legos.
Ryan spends his days teaching the youth of America all about business, accounting and marketing. Barbara spends her days mostly sleeping, but spends her nights saving puppies and kittens (and other little creatures).
We are excited to continue this simple but enjoyable life committed to each other. We hope all of our family and friends can come celebrate our marriage with us on August 10th, 2014.
